190 Visa: SKILLED NOMINATION
This subclass 190 visa is for points-tested skilled workers who are nominated by a state or territory government agency. It allows the successful applicant to live and work in Australia as a permanent resident.
Who Is Eligible For The 190 Visa?
This visa is a permanent residence visa for points-tested skilled workers who want to live and work in Australia and have been nominated by an Australian state or territory government agency.
To apply an applicant must first submit an Expression of Interest and then be invited through SkillSelect to apply.
What Are The Other Requirements Of The 190 Visa?
When the applicant is sent their letter of invitation, they must have:
- A nomination for an occupation that is in the relevant skilled occupation list
- Obtained a suitable skills assessment for that occupation
- Be under the age of 45
- Achieved the specific score specified in the letter of invitation based on the points test
- Competent English
The applicant will have 60 days to respond from when they received the invitation.
The applicant must also meet health and character requirements.
What Are The Benefits?
This is a permanent residence visa. It allows the applicant and any family members who have also been granted this visa to:
- Stay, work and study in Australia indefinitely
- Enroll in Medicare
- Apply for Australian citizenship (when eligible)
- Sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence
Family members of the applicant can be included in the visa application, as long as they fulfil the requirements of being a member of the family unit.
These family members must also show that they meet health and character requirements.
Visa Charges
The Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) has a base government charge of $4045 with additional charges for every additional person included on the application.
This charge does not include any additional requirements such as health or character checks.
